Research has shown that 1:1 glucose-fructose formulas release extremely high amounts of carbohydrates into the blood and exhibit some of the highest carbohydrate oxidation rates ever measured. This high-quality energy supply ultimately translates into improved endurance performance.
The TORQ 1:1 Proto range consists of 3 Energy Drinks and 3 Energy Gels, with each product containing 40 grams of carbohydrates in a 1:1 glucose-fructose formula. We call these '‘Advanced TORQ Units’ (ATUs), since our regular TORQ Units relate to our 2:1 range. To consume 120 grams of carbohydrates per hour, you only need to consume any combination of 3 ATUs.
The 1:1 Proto Energy Drink powders are added to 500 ml of water and provide 40 grams of carbohydrates, along with the full set of 5 electrolytes. The gels are much more concentrated and deliver the same dose of carbohydrates in a much more compact format.
In warmer weather, when you sweat more, you should drink more ATUs energy drink and consume fewer ATUs gel. In cooler conditions, when you sweat less, the opposite applies: you should drink less and consume more via gels. Every situation is different, and you must be prepared to adapt to the environmental conditions. Often, these conditions can change during an event, and you must adjust to maintain the balance between hydration and energy supply.
IMPORTANT: TORQ 1:1 Proto products are only optimal with a very high carbohydrate intake. If you are not aiming for a carbohydrate intake of 120+ grams per hour, we recommend using our regular 2:1 TORQ Fuelling System product line.

TORQ 1:1 Proto Energy Drink is available in sachets (for single use) and in 500-gram sachets (for 11 portions of 500 ml). The 500-gram sachets come with a scoop (measuring spoon). Use 1 level scoop of TORQ 1:1 Proto Energy powder per 250 ml of water (2 scoops for 500 ml, 3 scoops for 750 ml, and 4 scoops for 1 liter). Always add the powder to the water, not the water to the powder, to ensure the mixture mixes well.
Fill the bottle halfway with water, add level scoops of powder, put on the cap, and shake. Fill the bottle with water and shake again. Your TORQ 1:1 Proto Energy Drink is ready to drink.
